Coach Ross has been a Gilroy resident for 30 years where he has been an integral part of the Gilroy swimming community. Coach is originally from San Jose, where his life long passion for swimming began at Willow Glen High School. While attending at Willow Glen, Coach Ross held both school and league records. Coach Ross earned a B.S. degree in Physical Education at San Jose State University where he swam as a Division 1 college swimmer on scholarship. Coach Ross speaks at local and state wide conventions on the subjects of swimming and Physical Education which are his passion.
Coaching experience includes:Head age-group at San Jose Aquatics, Gilroy Gators Head Coach, Head Swim Coach at Gilroy High School, Head Swim Coach at Gavilan College, Coaching Olympic swimmer and 6 time world record holder Chris Stevenson, Coaching many high school and college All-Americans. Coach Ross also owns and instructs at 'Coach Ross Swim Lessons' in Gilroy which has operated for the past 25 years.
